Enhanced Delayed Fluorescence in Tetracene Crystals by Strong Light‐Matter Coupling

We have demonstrated a four-fold enhancement of the delayed fluorescence in tetracene crystals by strongly coupling singlet excitons to photons in an optical cavity formed by a nanoparticle array. The enhanced luminescence is attributed to triplet excitons that are harvested by the lower polariton band emerging from the strong coupling. These type of effects in strongly coupled organic systems can be exploited to improve the performance of devices, such as OLEDs or organic solar cells.
