Bootcamp Hendrix Genetics

From 11th to 13th of February, the second PhotonDelta Application Bootcamp was held at TU/e. Niels van Hoof participated as an expert in the field, trying to come up with solutions for Hendrix Genetics with the use of integrated photonics. The challenge was set on measuring conventional egg properties. The company was enthusiastic about the…

Abstract submission to SCOM 2020 open until January 31st.

SCOM 2020 is the third international workshop on strong coupling in organic materials. It will be held in Gothenburg in Sweden on 26-29 April 2020. It builds on the very successful workshops, SCOM16 and SCOM18, held in San Sebastian and in Eindhoven in 2016 and in 2018, respectively.   The workshop brings together researchers from different disciplines including…

Ultrafast Dynamics of Non-equilibrium Organic Exciton-Polariton Condensates

In our recently published manuscript in Nano Letters, we have demonstrated the important role that vibrations in molecules have for the condensation and the emission of organic exciton-polariton lasers. You can find the manuscript in this link or read the news item.

Enhanced Delayed Fluorescence in Tetracene Crystals by Strong Light‐Matter Coupling

We have demonstrated a four-fold enhancement of the delayed fluorescence in tetracene crystals by strongly coupling singlet excitons to photons in an optical cavity formed by a nanoparticle array. The enhanced luminescence is attributed to triplet excitons that are harvested by the lower polariton band emerging from the strong coupling. These type of effects in…

Spectral and temporal evidence of robust photonic bound states in the continuum on terahertz metasurfaces

In collaboration with the group of Sanchez Gil (CSIC-Spain), we have demonstrated that a simple array of gold dimers can support modes with infinite life-times. We have investigated these, so-called, Bound States in the Continuum using THz time-domain spectroscopy. Read more in our published Optica.
